CAN WE HELP WITH YOUR PROJECT?

Whether you have a fully developed concept or just the spark of an idea, we’d love to hear about it. Fill out the form below and let’s start creating something unforgettable.

OUR PROCESS

From concept development to final installation, our process is designed to turn ideas into durable, visually impactful custom fabrications with care, precision, and attention to detail.

DISCOVERY

We start by understanding your goals, audience, space, timeline, and budget. This stage helps us define the creative direction, technical requirements, and overall scope of the project.

CONCEPT

Next, we develop the creative vision through sketches, mood boards, colour direction, and scale studies. This is where ideas begin to take shape and align with your brand, environment, and user experience.

ENGINEERING

Once the concept is approved, we move into technical planning. We finalize materials, structural support, anchoring, and safety considerations to ensure the build performs as beautifully as it looks.

FABRICATION

Our team brings the design to life using a mix of carving, CNC cutting, 3D printing, sculpting, assembly, and specialty coatings. Every piece is built with durability, detail, and real-world use in mind.

FINISHING

This is where the project gets its final character. We apply paint, textures, branded elements, and protective topcoats to create a polished result that is both visually striking and built to last.

LOGISITICS

We coordinate crating, shipping, delivery, and on-site installation to help your project arrive safely and come together smoothly. Whether it stays local or travels across Canada, we plan for a seamless final rollout.

SYC design and build process begins with 3D design
Image of a worker spray painting a large sculpture – A worker in protective gear spray-painting fine textures on a themed sculpture, giving depth and realism to the large piece.
Image of a worker assembling a giant King Kong sculpture – A large King Kong sculpture being assembled with a worker positioned at the top of its head. The sculpture is part of an outdoor themed decor installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What kinds of 3D displays and custom fabrications do you create?

We design and build custom 3D displays, sculptures, themed environments, branded activations, interactive features, architectural statement pieces, photo ops, retail displays, and large-scale signage accents. Whether you need a one-of-a-kind attraction feature or a branded visual centerpiece, we create custom work tailored to your space, audience, and goals.

3. Are your displays durable enough for public or high-traffic spaces?

Yes. Our displays are built for real-world use, including public-facing, high-traffic environments. We use engineered materials, structural supports, proprietary hardcoats, and commercial-grade finishes designed for durability, transport, and daily use. We also prioritize surfaces that are easy to clean, scuff-resistant, and field-repairable where possible.

4. Can you help with the design, or do I need to come with a finished concept?

We can help at any stage. Some clients come to us with a clear vision, while others start with a rough idea, a space, or a goal they want to bring to life. Our process can include discovery, concept development, scale studies, materials planning, engineering, fabrication, and finishing — so you do not need to have every detail figured out before reaching out.

5. How do you handle safety and compliance?

Safety is built into our process from the start. Depending on the project, we account for factors like child-safe design, anchoring, weight-load specifications, pinch-point and sharp-edge mitigation, and finish selections suited for public environments. We design with both visual impact and practical use in mind.

6. What is the best way to start a project with Studio Y Creations?

The best place to start is by contacting us with your idea, timeline, location, and any reference images, sketches, or dimensions you already have. From there, we can discuss your goals, budget, site requirements, and what level of support you need — from concept development through fabrication and installation.

7. How long does a custom 3D display project usually take?

Project timelines vary depending on the size, complexity, materials, finishing requirements, and installation logistics. Smaller or simpler builds may move faster, while large-scale or highly detailed projects typically require more time for design development, fabrication, finishing, and shipping coordination. The best way to get an accurate timeline is to contact us early with your target launch date so we can assess scope and plan accordingly.

SYC-testimonial-success-projects4.jpg

SYC was so fantastic to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for support with parade and pageantry - from concept to completion. The sales team went way beyond expected service, was diligent in communications with other vendors and kept me in the loop but didn't bother me with the little details. I cannot thank them enough for making this process so seamless.

Effie the Triceratops and Gus the Brontosaurus have quickly become local favourites, adding so much character to our town. Tracking down our dinosaur statues has even made the list of top things to do in the Drumheller area! We love being able to help enhance the community with these amazing dinosaur statues and artwork. The attention to detail and craftsmanship from Studio Y is top-notch, and the positive impact on our town is undeniable. We couldn’t be happier with the result!

SYC led us through everything we needed to have ready for our Alberta Centennial Celebration, and the time frame we gave him was extremely short. SYC came through, and the 500 people who attended our grand opening were awed!
